Our Story

Founded initially as a Hindi-Film dance team in 2015, Rhydhun has evolved to become Duke University's premier Bollywood fusion dance team. Rhydhun is a co-ed team that performs both on Duke University's campus as well as at the national level through the Desi Dance Network (DDN) circuit. We. perform a variety of styles such as Bollywood, Kuthu, Classical, Kuthu, Bhangra, Hip-Hop, and Contemporary.

Our History

R6

COVID - 19

During COVID, R6 kept dancing, just six feet apart. We filmed Bollywood, hip-hop, and bhangra videos online. R6 also sent two teams to the online competition Cybernaach. Our Team A placed first place overall. 

R7

FRANKENSTEIN

R7 had a monstrous year while attending four bid comps this season. We placed first at Aag Ki Raat, third at Buckeye Mela, and also competed at Naach Di Cleveland and A-Town Showdown, finishing 13th overall in the nation. 

R8

THE DARK KNIGHT

R8 attended five bid comps this season and achieved new heights. We placed first at Oak City Revolution, second at Penn State Infusion, and also competed at Naach Di Cleveland, Atlanta Tamasha, and UGA India Night. Rhydhun ended the season as 15th in the nation!

R9

KILL BILL

R9 attended three total comps this season and grew stronger as a dance family. We placed first at Chak de C'Ville (UVA), second at Jhoomti Shaam (L.A.), and also competed at Aaja Nachle (UT Dallas). Rhydhun ended the season as 13th in the nation!
